Gate ("we", "our", "the app") is built by a solo developer. This policy describes what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Gate, you agree to this policy.
Account: your email address and optional display name, stored securely via Supabase. Meditation sessions: start/end times, duration, verification method used, and the apps that were blocked during each session. Pose detection scores: when you verify via your camera, we analyze your posture locally on-device and store only the resulting confidence and stillness scores — your video is never uploaded. Device info: device model and iOS version, attached to each session record for debugging purposes. App selection: the list of apps you choose to block, stored in encoded form. Emergency unlock history: timestamps and optional reason text when you use an emergency unlock.
Gate requests camera access solely to analyze your seated posture during meditation verification. Video frames are processed on-device by a local pose-detection model. No video footage is recorded, stored, or transmitted.
If you choose the third-party meditation verification method, Gate reads mindfulness / meditation session records from Apple Health to confirm a completed session. We do not write to HealthKit, and we do not share or sell your health data. Health data is read on-device; only the session duration is stored on our servers.
Subscription purchases are processed through Apple and managed by RevenueCat. We receive only your subscription status and entitlement information — we never see your full payment details. RevenueCat's privacy policy applies to their handling of transaction data.
Gate uses Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls framework to enforce app blocks. The list of apps you choose to block is stored in encoded form on our servers so it can be restored across sessions. We do not collect or store your broader device Screen Time report.
Provide core features (blocking, verification, scheduling). Track your meditation history and streaks within the app. Debug issues reported by your device model and OS version. Determine subscription status and apply entitlements.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is shared only with: • Supabase — our backend database and authentication provider. • RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management. • Apple — HealthKit and Screen Time frameworks operate under Apple's privacy policy. All third-party providers are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable law.
Your data is retained while your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at helpgateles@gmail.com and we will process the request within 30 days.
Auth tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain via Expo Secure Store. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. We follow industry-standard practices but no system is 100% secure.
Gate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Gate after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
